Webosaurs
A Dinosaur-Themed MMO for Kids and Families
A Dinosaur-Themed MMO for Kids and Families.
Webosaurs was a massively multiplayer online world where players took on the role of customizable dinosaurs and explored a rich prehistoric environment filled with games, social interaction, and discovery. Developed for Reel FX Entertainment, the platform was designed to balance fun, safety, and creativity—giving young players a vibrant space to play, learn, and connect.
Players could choose from a cast of cartoon-style dinosaurs, each with unique traits and cosmetic customization options. The world of Webosaurs included multiple explorable zones—volcanoes, swamps, ice caves—each with its own ecosystem, minigames, hidden items, and lore. As players completed activities, they earned in-game currency to spend on armor, furniture, pets, and other upgrades that personalized their experience.
Beyond exploration and collection, the platform was heavily focused on community. Players could chat (with moderation features), form friend groups, and take part in live events hosted by characters or staff. For subscribed members, premium content included additional dinosaur avatars, private areas, and custom player cards—features that helped drive engagement and made players feel like part of something bigger.

The project included both front-end game development and full backend infrastructure—handling account creation, world persistence, social mechanics, and scalable content delivery. Real-time multiplayer zones supported thousands of concurrent players, and seasonal events were managed through dynamic server-side updates.
From a gameplay perspective, Webosaurs leaned into accessibility and positive reinforcement. Minigames ranged from skill-based challenges to simple puzzles and memory games, all tuned for a younger audience. Visual design emphasized bold, expressive characters and lush environments, built to run smoothly in browser-based formats.
Webosaurs also served as a platform for safe, COPPA-compliant social play—a place where kids could learn digital etiquette, experiment with self-expression, and build early connections in a moderated environment. It was more than a game; it was a place to belong.
